Yoga can be defined as union and is an ancient practice of connecting mind, body, heart, and spirit. Practiced for thousands of years and originating in India, it is scientifically proven to be effective in treating and preventing many ailments of the self.
Today, yoga is very popular in a group class format filling health clubs and studios across the world. Unfortunately, it can be challenging for a teacher to focus all the benefits of yoga on every person and situation in a group setting.
Private instruction is beneficial because, in a private or a small group, the yoga teacher can plan the class session around the needs and wants of the individual.

This is my first experience with yoga and I am curious about what to expect.
I have been wanting to take a group class but would like to get more insight and a little private practice first.
I have been taking group classes for a while but would like to deepen my practice and/or increase my understanding of a certain pose or a particular style of yoga.
There is a particular body part or area of the body I would like to focus more on stretching and/or strengthening.
I am not that comfortable in a group setting and would rather practice with private instruction or perhaps with my friend(s) and/or family.

Jason now teaches a restorative yoga class at the American Family Fitness Brook Road location. The class is from 5:30-6:30 pm on Fridays and is a gently heated (90 degrees) class. Private classes with Ray of Light are still available as well as virtual (group and private) classes.
